Try A "New Dailey Routine"

Thursday, December 22, 2011

Millions of people work from home. Based on the latest American Community Survey data, just over two percent of the U.S. employee workforce (2.8 million people) consider home their primary place of work. If you're in this category, Newman-Dailey Resort Properties invites you to try a "New Dailey Routine" and enjoy the benefits of a month-long stay in a Destin beach condo or home along Northwest Florida's Gulf Coast.

The "New Dailey Routine" features vacation rentals with a desk and WiFi. Newman-Dailey Resort Properties offices may be used for basic office needs, including printing, photo copies, and faxes for a nominal fee. Monthly rental rates begin at $975 for a one bedroom gulf view condo. If you'd benefit from a change of scenery, call us 1-800-225-7652 and we'll find the perfect rental home/office to accommodate you. Or click here to view our vacation rentals online.

We hope you'll be able to make this one of your New Year's Resolutions!

Coastal Gift Ideas

Wednesday, December 21, 2011

If you're still struggling on a gift idea for that last person on your list, consider a South Walton or Destin, FL locally made product. Our friend, Byron Chism, reminds us that Bad Byron's Butt Rub or Unca Duke’s Geaux Jus seasoning is great for those foodies on your list. Did you know that we have local beer? Your sibling may enjoy a six-pack from Grayton Brewing Co.  Not a beer drinker, give a bottle of Chautauqua Winery's Emerald Sunset Red or Emerald Sugar Sands White.  Of course, we're also a fan of the locally made art and jewelry. Time is running out!

Happy Hanukkah!

Tuesday, December 20, 2011

Happy Hanukkah to our many friends lighting the first candle of the menorah tonight. In recognizing this annual celebration of lights, we are reminded of traditional holiday feasts and delicious Hanukkah dishes, including crispy latkes, Challah Bread, Kugel, and suphganiots. Yum! Here's to celebrating miracles and spending time with family and friends!

Lovely Weather for a Boat Ride

Monday, December 19, 2011

Just hear those sleigh bells ringling, jing, ting-tingling too. Come on its lovely weather for a boat ride together with you. One of our favorite boat rides is aboard the Southern Star Dolphin Cruise. The original dolphin cruise in Destin, FL, the Southern Star is the area's most popular cruise, featuring up close viewing of dolphins, seabirds and a variety of other marine life.  Captain Cliff and Captain Steve are extremely knowledgeable and the two-hour, relaxing cruise is a fun excursion for the whole family. As part of the Newman-Dailey Gift Card, guests staying in a qualified rental receive one complimentary admission aboard the Southern Star. Happy boating!

Historic Holiday Celebrations

Friday, December 16, 2011

The holidays  always make us nostalgic. One of our favorite places to relive historic celebrations is with the annual Eden State Gardens Candlelight Tour taking place Saturday, Dec. 17 at 5:30 p.m.  It is a spectacular sight to see the Wesley House decorated in holiday splendor.  Upon arrival, you'll be greeted by Civil War re-enactors in period garb and , after the tour is completed, the Friends of Eden will be providing refreshments in the pavilion.

If you miss the Eden Tour, head up to historic DeFuniak Springs for Christmas Reflections. The beautifully decorated, historic Victorian-style homes surrounding Lake DeFuniak are reminiscent of Christmases long ago. The whole family will enjoy driving (or walking) around the lake to view more than 3 million lights and holiday decorations. The display opens each evening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and admission is only $3 per person, with children 6 and under free. Ride in style with Sunshine Limousine , offering special package rates for  holiday excursions from Destin and South Walton.

'Tis the Season to Shop

Thursday, December 15, 2011

Do you still have friends and family members on your list that you haven't found the perfect gift for? It may be time to visit the quaint shops and galleries around South Walton and Destin, FL. Located just west of Seagrove on Scenic Hwy 30A in Seaside, The Shops of Ruskin feature unique boutiques and art galleries. Each store sells a variety of arts-related offerings and one-of-a-kind fine art paintings, prints, jewelry, garden objects and clothing. “The 12 Shops of Christmas” may have just ended but the festive deals didn't.

Another great shop is Fusion Art Glass in Seaside and in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin. Representing more than 100 glass artists from around the world, it's a great spot to find spectacular one-of-a-kind pieces and jewelry.

Not local? We invite you to stay in one of our South Walton
luxury vacation homes or condos along Scenic 30A in Blue Mountain Beach, Santa Rosa Beach, Seacrest or Seagrove Beach, FL to take advantage of these great deals. Come stay with us two night or more now through Dec. 31 and you'll receive a $50 gift card for Silver Sands Factory Stores. Happy Holidays!

Walk the Beach

Wednesday, December 07, 2011

We're glad to be in Destin, Florida where the white powder is sand, not snow! One of our favorite pastimes is taking a long walk on the soft, sugar white sand beaches. And it's good for your heart! A Harvard Study shows that walking a  moderate pace (3 mph) just 30 minutes a day can reduce the risk of heart disease in women by as much as 40%. So come walk the beach in preparation for all the indulgent holiday feasts and treats. You'll be glad  you did!

The Season of Giving

Monday, December 05, 2011

December is the  season of giving and we're giving some great Destin vacation deals for new and returning guests. We're also proud to be supporting local charities. One of our favorites during the holidays is the Toys for Tots program. A program of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys and distributes them as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. Here in Destin, Florida, the Emerald Coast Toys for Totsis an easy way to support less fortunate children experience the joy of Christmas.  There are many local drop off locationsin Destin & South Walton. Join us in dropping off an unwrapped gift and make a difference in child's life.

Boat Parade - Dec. 4

Friday, December 02, 2011

Since it's now December, we're looking for ways to get into the holiday spirit here in Destin, Florida and  nothing says Florida Christmas like the annual Lighted Boat Parade, Dec. 4, along the Destin Harbor. The spectacular parade of boats adorned with holiday decor and beaming in the glow of Christmas lights makes its way through the harbor at 6 p.m. The harbor will be bustling with area fishing boat captains and local boat owners as they line up for the festive, colorful holiday parade. Plan to get there early and find the perfect spot,  either on the docks or inside a restaurant. The parade judges will be upstairs at Harry T's if you want to be in  the heart of the action. Or enter your boat and join the parade ($25 entry fee). Boats start lining up at 5 p.m. and parade starts at 6 p.m.
