Blue Surf Townhomes 23

We love it here. The master BR is nice because it is on a second floor and allows a toddler to sleep quietly. The draperies block out the sun which is nice for napping. Like the kitchen island for food prep. The easy walk to the beach is wonderful. We stayed in October and would like to have had a professional carpet cleaning prior. Maybe that happens during the winter season?

Destin and Blue Surf have been my vacation spot for about 20+ years now. Great location but showing a bit of wear. Some upgrades/updates need to be made to this unit - primarily replacing mattresses! Even with that problem, the unit is a good one and I would recommend it to anyone. Blue Surf's location is excellent and even though you aren't gulf front (nor paying gulf front prices!) you have great, unencumbered views of the ocean!!

The location of this property is great, right across the street from the beach, with an easy walk and boardwalks along the way. The common areas at this property were equally good. The pool area had comfortable furniture, was neatly kept and was basically just clean. The disappointment was the state of the rental unit itself. It had several areas where water damage was visible in the ceilings with stains and in some cases the paper and spackling was peeling off. Both bathrooms were in terrible shape. The downstairs bathroom had rust on the door hinges and stains on the outside of the bathtub and up the wall. The upstairs bathroom had peeling wall paper, a commode that was broken and would not stop running and very weird problems with water pressure. It is a shame that these few things have ruined what would otherwise have been a great stay. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds were comfortable and while the layout is a bit awkward, all in all this could be a really nice property.

We wished there was weather stripping on the living room doors as the wind howled thro' the cracks. This is a great energy waste. A comfortable living room chair would be a great asset. Overall tho', we had a wonderful holiday. The unit was well equipped.The view is heavenly, neighbours friendly, and the shopping/restaurants are close by.

Our family has been vacationing at the Blue Surf for years, and we keep coming back as it has become "home." Blue Surf gives our family the affordability of a motel and the privacy and spaciousness of a home. Unit #23 is tastefully decorated and has nearly everything to make a family feel right at home. The view of of the gulf from the living room is priceless. BUT, the lack of a tv in the master bedroom was a huge disappointment, and the fact that the sliding door in the second bedroom did not lock was very concerning to me as a parent. In my opinion, a stick in the track of a sliding door doesn't constitute a lock, and we ended up wedging a card table in the track along with the stick. The rebuilt beach access steps and boardwalk is wonderful. As in years past, a long-time beach services employee was far from friendly and put a damper on our beach time more than once. Overall, I would certainly recommend Blue Surf and Unit 23, and my family already has plans to return to the Blue Surf next October.

This was my second time to stay at the Blue Surf. All expectations were met and if all goes accordingly we would like to stay there again sometime. I have recommended this place to friends and family so they can experience the pleasures of the Gulf. I am not complaining, but the dryer in BS23 took a very long time to dry a load of clothes. I had to put it on 60 minutes 3 times. It was an average size load. (just thought I would let you know and the hallway light bulb and the one above the washer and dryer is out.) It was not super clear on how we were to handle towels and linens. Overall, it was great and we thank you!
