The house heating unit was unaceptable for the size of the home.

The hot water heater was not working for the size of the house. It told the house upstair hours to heat up. The patio window had no window curtain. The family room was cold and had an fireplace and it was not connect to the gas unit. The blinds in the upatair needs to be replaced.

This home has a lot to offer, but unfortunately, it is not taken care of. Several towel racks in bathrooms were missing; the outdoor furniture was so nasty you were hesitant to use them; there is more weeds and yard waste than there is landscaping; the tips on the pool table sticks are missing; broken floor tiles; missing siding on the outside of the house. For you to recommend this for a wedding party, this house needs quite a bit of TLC. Not up to Nd's standards that we are used to.

Great Location - Decent House

The house was very clean when we arrived. It was in a good location for our trip and beach access was really nice for a non beach-front house. We especially liked the door keypad, which made access and departure very easy. There were sufficient linens and towels to support our family group. The parking was sufficient for our extended family, including a boat. The tables, chairs, sofas, and general decor inside the house were appropriate and nicely arranged to suite our needs. There were chairs on the porch/deck; however, some were cheaply made and seemed somewhat flimsy. Cookware and eating utensils were good, but improvement could be made in the quantity of left-over dishes. Overall, the stay was great. We did have an experience where the hot water was "out" for a day and a half. The repairman came and replaced the main breaker for the hot water heater. We had learned that he had been out the previous week for a similar problem with this breaker (such is the life of home-ownership and rental). Communication of the targeted "fix" time could have been better, but the problem was fixed in short order and we managed just as we would at home. We are certainly glad the timing worked out for this home and we would definitely stay here again, if the opportunity arises. I am originally from the area (lived in Shalimar for about 8 years) in the 1970's.
Great location, great space !

The Destin beaches are absolutely phenomenal !!! You must come (I would hurry) while the beaches are still in excellent shape, which they are.
My wife and I came down with our parents and our young daughter. The house is ever so sightly worse for wear, but it is absolutely great. Plenty of very well positioned bedrooms, lots of bathrooms. The game room was very handy. The parking there is very good as well.
I am giving this property an overall rating of Very Good only because the house is not in exeptional condition, but my overall experience was mostly excellent.
The deck on the second story is gigantic and wraps around 3/4 of the house. It has excellent views of the ocean. (Far better than many of the current rentals offer - at least at this price range.)
The pool was perfect. It has good space surrounding it with covered and uncovered areas. Handy for when it rains.
The pictures of the upstairs living room and dining areas don't really do the space justice. It is rather a cute room and the kitchen has excellent space. We ate virtually every meal at the kitchen/bar stool area.
Let me tell you about the beach access, it is excellent.
It would be hard to do much better (the location) unless you were directly on the beach. We have stayed at other rentals and this was by far the best beach access we have enjoyed (no stairs down/up, flat, shower at the entrance, parking for your golf cart)
By the way, you must rent a golf cart, it is well worth the money.
This was our best Destin vacation yet. I hope we can have many more. Newman Dailey was very good to deal with. You can't go wrong with this space.

We choose Call it Blessed because it is close to the ocean and had parking for an RV. It was also large enough to fit our family. After the vacation was booked I get a call saying we cannot park RV at Call it Blessed. Newman Dailey customer service got the clearance for the RV from the chamber of commerce in the Holiday Isle area. So that turned out to be OK. When we got to the house the outside was overgrown with weeds and brush we were very disappointed. The outside of the house was in much need of maintenance as well as the inside. Drain around the pool did not work. There was standing water in between the house and the pool. Inside the house only 2 DVD players worked. None of which were in Living Rooms. Ceramic tile was coming up in the kitchen. There was not enough dishes in kitchen. The stucco of the house was not at all like the picture on the website. It was very discolored. Gutters were broken. We expressed to Newman Dailey customer service that we were not happy with the rental. They said we could look at other properties but there might be a problem with RV parking.
Also, we had reviewed this rental on VRBO.com. They had listed incorrect information. Vrbo said that Call it Blessed had 2 Kitchens upstairs and downstairs. Also stated 2 sets of washer and dryers. And a community pool nearby. Newman Dailey had factual information. We booked with Newman Dailey last year and never had a problem.
Yes our family did enjoy the pool and the space the home allowed. Bottom line this rental was not worth what we paid for it.
I think we should get a portion of our money back. I feel bad writing a review like this - because I never write a review like this!
Manager's Response
I too was disappointed when I read this review and learned that Call It Blessed did not meet our guest's expectations. However; we always appreciate comments- good or bad. Corrective action is already in place regarding these issues. A new A/C was installed today. We will contact this guest directly in hopes of regaining their trust in us. Rest assured that this wonderful home will be back to Newman-Dailey standards before the next arrival. Karen Poe- Director of Operations 5/14/10

The house was perfect! We had a beautiful view of the ocean. In the mornings we would sit outside with our coffee & just look at the water from the balcony. So, relaxing. The pool table was something that we enjoyed playing over & over. The master bed was very comfortable. Slept like a baby. Their's so much room in this wonderful & beautiful home. We were truly blessed & plan to come back again. Perfect location & perfect home to stay in while you are in Destin.
