Sunset House

Thank you for a wonderful stay at the Sunset House! We came down to visit Grandma & Grandpa and came all the way from Ontario, Canada- we really enjoyed ourselves! My children loved the pool and the beach! We collected seashells and saw jellyfish and even a crab. We had busy days and earned our sleep every single night! The owner of this home is always updating which is why this home is one of our most requested vacation properties. 2011 - complete kitchen remodel: new counter tops and appliances as well as new bedding and flat screen televisions in all the bedrooms. 2012 - master bathroom being completely remodeled and a new 50" flat screen television and BluRay player being added to the living room. The house was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 4 children. It had lots of room for everyone. The pool was perfect for a late swim after a day on the beach. Our family will try to rent this house on our next trip to Destin. The employees of Newman-Dailey are just great to work with.

My family and I stayed in the Sunset House for a weekend to go to a family wedding. The house was clean, very accomodating, and beautiful. The layout was perfect for a large family (whether for just adults or including children) and the decorum was very well done and helped induce a beachy type atmosphere. The location is perfect because it's 2 blocks from the Henderson Park, the beach and many stores and restaurants. To top off all the positive characteristics of the house, the staff of Newman-Dailey was more than delightful and quick to help and please their renters in any way possible. I would definitely recommend renting with Newman-Dailey and even more renting the Sunset House!

The Sunset House is a lovely home on the beach. We enjoyed the feeling of being a houseguest. The house was furnished with so many home touches. The family pictures, the artwork, the children's books, and the placemats for the children were all suprise and usefull additions for us. The pool was very pleasing to the eye and comforting to the body. We enjoyed grilling and eating lunch by the pool. The short walk to the pool was easy and fun and it also kept us out of the hum of the beachgoers. We had every comfort of home and had a wonderful vacation. We would love to return to the Sunset House.

House is huge, amazing storage space. Awesome well supplied kitchen (laundry room right off from it- love that) and mega counter space and seating- very open. Alot of consideration went into floor plan and decor. Whether you're at kitchen bar, dining tables or living room - everyone could socialize. Bedrooms allow privacy (tv in everyone of them)- our little one could nap and not be woke up. The 2 person hammock by the pool was great. We read bible book and napped too. It was great way to "rock" him to sleep. Great wrap around porch too and roomy outdoor furniture. I worked on vacation bible school stuff under the gentle breeze of outdoor ceiling fan, while Garrison napped in hammock. After guys returned from golf - we all went swimming in the big heated pool. It poured down rain, but the poolside seating area so well covered it didn't matter and the sound of rain hitting metal roof ( I love it!) Most other lots might have no trees or a tree. House sits on 2 lots. Great idea - front of house has cobblestone road- so traffic limited to people staying in homes- very minimal traffic. The sides and back of home are surrounded by trees! Which create privacy barrier from side neigbors and the busier traffic from the back road. Absolute peace and quiet. I sat up late enjoying the rocking chair on huge wrap around porch - the breeze blowing through the palms sounded exactly like the waves crashing on the beach. Great house, very well cared for. Never had to step over a single suitcase! Storage especially great for large group or extended vacation. Combination lock on door means no keys to share with 8 other people. Amenity package from Newman Dailey- great deal. One free round of golf daily per unit and even includes a Great course The Links. Coupon book for unlimied movie rentals and lots of eating discounts. Great property rental rates anyway, but add in Newman Daily amenity - and you really get a great deal!

We had a wonderful time in Destin! The Sunset House was perfect for our family of 13 and I would definately return next year if possible. The covered back porch, heated pool, hammock, private patios, large kitchen and laundry were the best features. We also had great weather, which always improves a vacation. The 1 block walk to the beach was easy and every day was beach and then pool. We also had great service from the Newman Dailey group. We had called the first day we were there to tell them about a dirty grill, no gas for grill and a broken step on front porch and they fixed it all that day! Thanks for the use of your home, it was so nice to feel at home ourselves.

Sunset House was spacious and well appointed. It is close to many activities and the beach. We all enjoyed our time there and would return.

Service was great. The house was beautiful and relaxing, only problem was how to work master bathroom lights, mini refig. in loft did not work and ice maker was not working. It was located in a nice quiet neighbor hood and close to beach. Liked the area best and least liked was there was no driveway. Can't wait until next visit.

The service we received was timely and efficient. All of us LOVED the home. It felt like home with the spacious kitchen, well equiped patio/pool, lots of seating area, and well acquainted bath and bedrooms. The location was perfect for us because it was close to the beach and away from the mainstream. We liked the homey feeling of the house which made us feel happy and relaxed. The difficult part was having to purchase suntries like cleaning products, dishwasher detergent, and foil. Overall, we had a marvelous time and would love to have the opportunity to stay at Sunset House again.

The house met our needs very well. We had 6 adults and 3 children and the sleeping arrangements worked very well. The ambiance of Sunset House is warm, cozy and family-oriented. We loved the pool and spent much of the afternoons in it. The privacy of the backyard was great. We were well serviced by your staff. When we called for help with the clothes washer, the man as very helpful and very friendly. He represented Newman-Dailey extremely well. WE look forward to coming back next July. when we stayed at the sunset house from 6/13/09 til 6/21/09 it was very nice and relaxing the pool was very well kept up the house was very welcoming we had other couples and children and they all had fun i would recommend this house to anyone . we had one problem was not major but wish they can fix it and that was beach acess we had to walk a block to the beach and that was not bad it was when u got on the beach you had to walk 2 blocks because it was blocked off with the condo rentals which its not a big problem but i do think they should have opening closer to the house but like i said it was not a major problem just a lil sugestion. thanks for accomadaion

EVERYTHING WE NEEDED WAS AT THE HOUSE. IT WAS GREAT FOR OUR FAMILY REUNION.NEWMAN DAILY REP. WAS O.K. I WOULD RENT AGAIN BUT WOULD USE ANOTHER REP. SHE DIDN'T SEEM TO GO OUT OF HER WAY TO HELP LOOK AT OTHER PROPERTIES AS WE ASKED.

I personally called this guest and discovered many of our rental units were occupied at the time he wanted to view other vacation homes due to a high volume of winter guests. Our conversation went extremely well and we expect our guest will return next year. Katy Young Reservations

This rental served as a central reunion place for a Thanksgiving family reunion. Seating was paramount! Although the weather did not cooperate and thus could not use the pool as planned, we enjoyed the house. It would have been great if a small bath was available on the upper most bedroom. Having flown in, it would have been nice to have some basic neccities like sponges, some cleaning supplies. The beds were fantastically, comfortable and sheets and towels plush! Location was great-could hear the ocean surf from the decks. Parking for only 2 cars could be a problem during high rental season.I would recommend this house!

This was our second time staying at the Sunset House and we enjoyed as much, if not more, as we did the first time. Lots of beds, spacious rooms and a big kitchen were great as we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Also, we liked being close to the beach so we could walk down there easily and having the private pool so when the surf was too rough to swim in the Gulf, we could swim in the pool. We're definitely planning on renting this house again.

We spent a wonderful week at Sunset house with Grandparents, kids and an aunt all in tow. There was plenty of room for everyone to have their own room to get away too as well as a nice size living room for watching movies together as a group. The pool and deck area in the back are a huge added bonus. When the kids had enough of the sand and heat down at the ocean it was wonderful to come back to our own backyard sanctuary. We enjoyed lunch everyday out by the pool and grilled some great dinners at night. (A side note, be sure to check the tank on the gas grill when you first arrive. We had steaks marinating on a Sunday evening and discovered the tank empty - no one could replace it from the rental company till Monday afternoon). The kitchen is great for cooking big meals although they could use some upgrading in their pans and utensils. Also, there is an alarm on the back door for the pool. This is probably required from an insurance standpoint for guests with young children. Our kids were older and we did not need the alarm but could not figure out how to turn it off. A bit of a nuisance when it goes off every time you open the door. All in all this house is the nicest we have ever stayed in when renting in Destin and is wonderful for a large family or several families. The decor is elegant yet comforting in a beach style. When we go back to we will request this property again.
