The downstairs stayed a very cool 70-72 degrees but the upstairs a/c ran non-stop and would hit temperatures of 80 degrees by 7:00pm at night. Considering 3 of the 4 bedrooms are upstairs, it was quite uncomfortable. Also the spa never did work our entire vacation. We were told it would be fixed by Tuesday of our week's stay but nobody ever returned and the spa remained broke the entire time. However on the positive side, the overall layout and location of this house is beautiful. It is very spacious, could sleep up to 20 people, parking for 4 cars in the driveway and garage and the pool/balcony area is a great way to relax during your stay. The townhouse was beautifully decorated and the community was small, new and secure. The pool was perfect after the beach and the kids loved it when they got tired of the surf. The location could not be better - it was a very short walk to the beach, even for the toddlers. It was also close to the supermarket, outlet stores and beach stores. We had a full house (10) including small children and never felt too cramped except for in the dining area, which was tight for that many people. We had some water pressure issues, which Newman-Dailey responded to promptly. The only other negative was that we were missing the ladder to the top bunk - hopefully that will be corrected also. Emerald Shores has two pools, tennis courts, and a private pavilion on the beach. The house is one of the closest to the beach in the neighborhood. It’s a 300 yard walk or they run a tram in the summer in case you have chairs and coolers to carry. The house has a children’s bedroom with built-in bunks along with three other bedrooms. We loved having a small yard with a patio and all the porches and decks for sitting out in the evening. We’ll definitely be back in Destin next year and we hope to stay at the MariSol. There was a shortage of silverware, but that should be taken care of by the timd we arrive this summer. I love Miramar Beach and I always try to stay there. Being so close to our favorite place to eat (Pompano Joe's) is a huge plus too. That being said, there have been upgrades to the property, but they do fall short. The beds are not comfortable (a king in the Master would be nice). And the reason there are no pictures of the actual decks is because the outside has only had the bare minimum done to make it functionable. This home is poorly maintained and very few appliances/kitchen items works. Customer Service upon check in was extremely rude. The colors are so bright and beachy and the decor is just perfect for a beach vacation! Our first stay was with 2 other couples and each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom - great for a vacation. We cooked several times in the fully stocked kitchen and even grilled out on the deck. The second time we stayed we had small children and it was wonderful! There is a cute little toddler booster seat for the table and a baby gate. And it was nice to not have to tote everything to the beach. With the lower deck right there, we could run back and forth as needed for drinks, toys and such. OH - and the owner-supplied beach chairs and umbrella were super convenient and comfortable! And the owner left lots of great beach toys and even some "rainy day" toys for the kids. We loved going to sleep to the sound of the surf and waking up to the beautiful white beach right outside our window. The sunsets were beautiful and we had our own "happy hour" each evening on our own deck! The location was great, too! Easy access to many restaurants and shopping, without having to deal with downtown Destin traffic! That was fantastic! I highly recommend to anyone vacationing with kids or other couples! We would move in tomorrow if we could. The home was beautifully decorated and spotless. I felt like I had the gourmet kitchen I always wanted. It was great for relaxing with a book on one of the many balconies or sitting areas located throughout the home, or if you are a TV fan they provided only the best with flat screens in every gathering area. I loved the separate kitchens off the bedrooms, making coffee in the morning or drink at night was truly a pampering experience. The view of the beach from our bedroom on the 3rd floor was wonderful. The beach it self was another relaxing experience as we rented cabanas for the week and walked along the sand to the local restaurant for lunch or afternoon happy hour. Having the golf cart was a great conveniece and gave us the option of riding that one block to the beach or taking the lazy mans way, but on vacation we love to be lazy. We enjoyed the privacy the community had to offer and felt protected being in a gated community. The location was perfect for night life, restaurants and shopping as the new outdoor mall was within miles. The location is perfect. Nice quiet neighborhood, within a short walk to the beach. The cottage has all the amenities you could want including a pool right next door, an outside shower and a shaded porch that wraps around the cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated, extremely clean, has large walk-in closets and a master bath with a huge tiled shower. The cottage also has two other lovely bedrooms and another spacious bath. The kitchen and family room area is open and comfortable and is a great area for entertaining and large family gatherings. Sea Whisper cottage is perfect for both a romantic getaway as well as large enough for families. It is the nicest property around, full of friendly peoople. Every permanent resident spoke very highly of you and were very friendly with our children. A full time security guard patrolled the complex everyday and kept an eye on the properties, the children and people entering the complex. The house itself was unique in that the whole upstairs was an adult master escape, complete with numerous balconies with gorgeous views, huge closets and a whirlpool/shower. The ultimate escape from the children and privacy from any other quests. The peach stair well was also quite spectacular with its sconces and chandeliers. The master bath had beautiful flooring with sautillo tile inlaid with white and green ceramic. The house is painted in peaceful and relaxing colors that made it quite special. Also, the small details, like the lighting, the gas grill, and the flat screen TV were great. The kids enjoyed the "sandals" motif in their bedroom, as well as their first personal TV. The furnitiure was both comfortable and fun, fitting in with the color scheme. The beach is a pleasant stroll away. This is a private beach with first class umbrella and chair service, with attendants who took the time to learn our names and meet our needs. The beach had an uncrowded, laid back quality that was obviously not present in others areas. We loved walking on the beach at night and met many families walking with their children and looking for crabs. The amenities service includes many, many activities for all types of people. The golfing was amazing with personal service at the greens and valet to your car. The children's activities are too numerous to mention, but we enjoyed many of them. ASI and Newman Dailely were very helpful with answering our numerous questions. The outlet mall was enjoyed by all and the children were very sad to leave and are still talking about the beach and go-cart cart rides.
