We had a great experience staying as a family at Ocean Mist. The beach was fantastic and so close! It's really a great house and the neighborhood was beautiful. I only wish the house had a little TLC. The outside of it was in desperate need of cleaning, the porches and outside furniture were also filthy, and there were a TON of little bugs flying around inside the kitchen window when we arrived. I cleaned all of the linens and the kitchen counters before we could feel comfortable enough to settle in. The staff at Newman Dailey were fantastic, though! I'd go through them again a heartbeat!!

When my family and I decided to take a summer vacation to Destin Fl I instantly hit the net in search of the perfect vacation rental. We decided upon the Ocean Mist Cottage for several reasons. 1. its close proximity to the beach and 2. the amount of people the house could sleep. The house was amazing. Located just off Hwy 98 which is the main strip for tourist it was convenient to everything we wanted to do while in Destin. It was very clean upon arrival and very well kept. Oh and not to mention a five minute walk from the beach. The motor in the pool did stop working our second day there and it was not repaired before we left. The only other negative is that the two upper levels were substantially cooler than the first floor but if you are like my family we were only there at night so it wasn't a huge deal. Overall this house was a great fit for my family. The neighborhood was as cute and quaint as can be. We had a wonderful time and I would definitely recommend this house to family and friends. I rated four stars becuase of the issues with the air conditioner and the pool.

My husband and I got married in Destin Beach 12 years ago. We actually got married in the Hudson Blendhiem(Newman Dailey property). We love Destin and come almost every year since we were married. We have stayed in multiple properties but the Ocean Mist is our favorite. The pool is very nice and private. We love the 3rd floor deck (my husband calls it his crows nest)It feels like home when we stay there.

We have stayed at Ocean Mist several times over the past 4 years and love having the privacy of our own pool. The house is a perfect size, clean, comfortable and we will keep coming back. The separation of the bedrooms with their own bath makes it comfortable for all of us. We LOVE sitting on the upper deck in the evenings where we can have a quiet time at the end of the day. It is a close walk to the beach and we enjoy stopping by the little restaurant on the corner for breakfast.

I have visited Destin for over 25 years & my most memorable stays have been spent at OceanMist Cottage. It is a short walk to the fabulous white sugary sand beach & minutes away from shopping & dining. The neat & tidy house has a lovely pool & landscaped yard to enjoy private relaxation! It's always a joy to stay there!

I wanted to let you know how much we have enjoyed vacationing in Destin and especially at this house. It is so close to the beach, restaurants and places of fun things for our kids to do. The house is always clean and well kept. We love the views from the balconies and playing in the pool when tired from the beach! We are spoiled now and won't stay anywhere else!

I just wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how much I enjoyed my stay at Ocean Mist. Everything was perfect! Excellent location, great Gulf view, perfect floorplan for every situation! Loved jumping in the pool with a cool drink after a sunny, sandy beach afternoon! Upon our arrival the house was so inviting and clean, we felt at home! We will definitely return and recommend this home to our friends and family staying in Destin.

I have stayed at Ocean Mist many times and our stays there have always been great. It is just a short walk to the beach and also to the Beach Walk Restaurant where my daughter was married. We loved the 3 levels of porches and the view of the Gulf from the 3rd floor. The neighborhood was quaint and quiet. The pool is private and we spend just as much time at the house and around the pool as we do at the beach. It is very close to lots of shopping and restaurants which means you don't have to deal with much traffic.

The house is close enough to the beach but if you have children or want to take chairs or a cooler it would be a bit of a walk. The house was very nice but had some issues. The pool was not clean and the hot tub was not working properly. There was also a problem with the a/c not working properly. By the last day of our visit the unit was leaking through the ceiling to the floor below in the kitchen. We had a good time anyway!
