Jade East Towers Guest Reviews
     I would like to say that Jade East 940 was beautiful. The whole complex was extremely nice and clean.
My complaint is with Newman-Daily Properties. Even though I loved Jade East, I will not book another reservation through this company because of your cancellation policy. I have booked with several different organizations, and never had such a rude, restrictive policy- the Mickey Mouse travel insurance policy that I felt forced to take out. I read the policy and procedures for your travel insurance company due to the oil spill and I felt as if it wasn't worth the paper it was printed on. The rules and hoops you have to go through and then you still probably won't get your money refunded, well, thats just poor business practices by you. Refering to the oil spill, I was told the only way I could get any refund would be if the state of Florida closed the beaches and if they were able to rent the condo out for the exact same dates. I was stuck. The oil did not impact our stay but the weather did. We were booked to stay until Friday, July 2, but we left on Thursday around 11:30 am due to the constant rain. I did not call the reservation line to tell them we were leaving because what good would it do?
I said all that to say that I will not book through Newman- Daily Properties in the future due to your cancellation policy. Also, I feel as if I was cheated by not being offered a "break" on my rental fee's due to the lack of vacationers in the area. Many of my friends who booked in Destin and Gulf Shores (with other rental companies) were given a partial refund on their rentals if they would just still come to the gulf coast. Not us because you didn't care if we came or not, you had our money for the condo and we had no option. We were stuck. You take care of the properties, but you do not think about or care about the actual people renting these properties. Reviewed on Thursday, July 15, 2010     Myself, husband, daughter, son-in-law and two young granddaughters stayed in Unit 1030 at Jade East. The unit is beautiful, but unfortunately not kid friendly. With the mirrored walls, glass table tops, we were constantly watching the grandkids telling they over and over, "Don't touch that!" When we discovered that the dryer did not work, we asked to be moved to a more family oriented unit. We were moved up a level to unit 1130 which we thorough enjoyed. Both units were clean and the view from the balcony was great. We would recommend either of the units, but with children, unit 1130 suited us better. Had great fun. We are already considering returning next year. (Note: After reporting the dryer not working, it was fixed the next day by the maintainance man.) Reviewed on Wednesday, May 19, 2010     When we arrived at unit inside the unit there still was mold and mildew in the master shower.
It looks like they are in the process of refurbishing it, and there was paint smeared all over the kitchen counter tops.
The master bedroom get extremely hot, if you leave the curtains open.
The base boards were in really bad shape and needed to be repainted.
As much as I had paid for this unit, I felt I could of gone elsewhere for a more 'up scale' place to stay.
I called Newman-Dailey after my stay, and they just said 'Thanks for the input'. I would of thought they would of offed some compensation.
The balcony is nice, and has a nice view but a bit small. The interior was decorated nicely.
The pool was very clean, and warm for an afternoon swim. Loved the beach service.
In the hall ways there is dust everywhere especially all over the elevators because they are re grouting the hallways. Jessica Hill Response on Tuesday, November 24, 2009     We had a GREAT time during our stay in Destin. We totally enjoyed the beach and the service. However, there were a few issues with unit 1740. There was mildew in the shower (on the tiles and shower head). The shower caddy was rusty. The vertical blinds in the living room and master bedroom were missing slats (which were mysteriously hanging in the closet). However, we really enjoy vacationing in Destin and will definitely rent again at the Jade East Towers. Reviewed on Saturday, September 26, 2009Thank you for your review. We have replaced the shower caddy, and also are working on shower mildew. The blind slats are now in their proper places as well.

Jessica Hill, Property Manager Response on Tuesday, November 24, 2009     I have stayed at the Jade east towers 3 times in the last 4 years had and okay stay the only issues were I even called ahead of booking at the jade east towers after reading reviews on the pool being to cold and had the same problem as the people staying in July with twin girls age 4 I ended up also leaving a day early due to pool water ice cold, the rental unit was nice, hard to stay in a place where 2 seperate rental companies in same building. Reviewed on Wednesday, September 09, 2009Thank you for taking the time to mention some of the issues you had. We have gotten in touch with the HOA of Jade East to correct the problem of the pool temperature. We've never had any issues in the past, so this is being trouble-shot to find the source of the issue at hand.
Also, I can understand how confusing it can be with two rental companies on site. We are conveniently located on the ground level in the owner's clubhouse & will remain in that location.

Response on Tuesday, November 24, 2009     The owners were nice and very helpful in what to do around Destin, etc. However, when we got to our condo, the tile has a layer of grit.. entryway, hallway, kitchen, bathrooms. I swept/vacuumed, which solved the problem. Master tub had a greasy film on it, which I would have cleaned, but noticed that the tub drain plug allows the water to leak out, so stuck to the shower. Biggest problem was front door did not have a deadbolt or anything other than a knob. Our young daughter kept letting herself out. Need another layer of protection.. Only 4 washcloths in the unit for our family of 6. As my husband went to the office, I found the cleaning folks next door. Both argued that 4 washcloths were all we should have in our 2 BR unit before giving in and letting us have more. Probably will not stay here again. Paying this much for a vacation, more is expected. That being said, the view was beautiful. Reviewed on Tuesday, September 01, 2009     The kitchen in this condo was very nice and remodeled. It had stainless steal
appliances and granite countertops. However, the sofa in the living room was
awful. The cushions would slide out every time someone sat down. The
carpet was dirty. The air conditioner in the unit did not work properly. It
would get very hot throughout the day and about 3 am it would finally cool
down. On our very first night we encounter two large roaches. And
discovered that the garbage area was right next to our unit. I would advise
the owners of this condo to make some drastic changes if they would like
anyone to stay at their condo. We enjoyed the complex at Jade East because it

Jessica Hill, Property Manager Response on Tuesday, November 24, 2009     Jessica at check in was extremely helpful and nice. She got us in to the condo early as we were travelling with a baby. However, the condo, was not cleaned well. We found old popcorn kernels under the couch (which the baby found and put in her mouth) as well as small little yellow balls under the couch. The bathtub was not cleaned well. When we gave my daughter a bath there was a soapy film in the tub which was very slick. The hot water supply was also terrible. We had to wait to take showers despite the fact there were 3 bathrooms. I was extremely disappointed in this. The pool was beautiful as well as the beach and the ocean. They were very clean and well maintained. The condo, overall, was very nice. I was just disappointed that it was not more clean. Reviewed on Sunday, July 12, 2009Thank you very much for your review. Cleanliness is one of the most important aspects of our operation. It is rare to get negative feedback in this catagory. I wish that I would have known about this so that I could have corrected this the same day as check-in.

There was mold and mildew in the shower that I had to clean before we could use the shower. Cleaning service is also not paying attention to walls and baseboards. But, overall the condo was wonderful. Unfortunately we would not stay again at Jade East due to the pool. It was not heated and was extremely cold. We have a small child that was really excited about the pool, but was unable to use it. There was also alot of jackhammering during the day. I called property management twice to discuss it and left a message. I never received a return phone call. It was difficult because my son needed to take a nap during the day. I stayed in a different unit at Jade East in '07 and knew there would be no surprises. We only had a couple of issues that were resolved on our first day by a very friendly, professional service tech. The Newman-Dailey staff are warm and extremely helpful. I will rent a condo at Jade East again and always refer friends to Newman-Dailey. Thank you for a wonderful stay and beautiful memories!
