Holiday Hop Added Before the Destin Boat Parade to Benefit Food for Thought

Destin is known for hosting fun events and celebrations as well as giving to those less fortunate. So we were not surprised to learn that three of Destin’s most popular seafood restaurants have partnered to host a Destin Holiday Hop to benefit our local charity Food for Thought.

Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer, Boshamps Seafood & Oyster House and AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar will host a Holiday Harbor Hop on Sunday, December 13, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. leading up to the annual Destin Boat Parade on the Destin Harbor.

For a $5 donation to Food For Thought or a requested Food Drive item, guests will hop to three of the Destin’s most recognized restaurants on a complimentary shuttle. Each stop will include live music as well as food and drink specials. The schedule is as follows:
 
December 13, 2015
11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. - Boshamps Seafood & Oyster House (live music by Continuum)
1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. - AJ’s Seafood & Oyster Bar (live music by the Jacob Mohr Band)
4 p.m.  – 6 p.m.  - Brotula’s Seafood House & Steamer (live music by Cadillac Willy)
6 p.m. – 7 p.m. - 26th Annual Holiday on the Harbor Lighted Boat Parade
 
Those who aren’t interested in hopping can still donate $5 or a requested food item item at one of the participating locations and enjoy live music overlooking the Destin Harbor. Food For Thought is a local non-profit organization that provides backpacks filled with healthy, easy to prepare food for students dependent on free and reduced school meals so they do not face food insecurity at home. By bridging the gap between school meals and time at home during weekends and holidays, Food For Thought has been fighting child hunger since 2010 and currently serves 15 area schools and more than 1,200 students.
 
Families may also view the Destin Boat Parade from HarborWalk Village filled with shops, restaurants and kids activities.
