EO Wilson Biophilia Center, A Naturally Fun Break During Summer Beach Vacation

Are you looking for a new activity to experience during your 2017 summer beach vacation to the beaches of South Walton and Destin, Florida? When you need a break from fun, sun and sand and are looking for a new experience, check out the EO Wilson Biophilia Center just north of the beaches of South Walton in Freeport, Florida. What an amazing experience for all ages.  Open to public on Thursdays and Fridays during June and July, the Biophilia Center introduces families to the ecology of Northwest Florida.

Our team member, Amy Turner, recently visited the Biophilia Center and had this to say:
“I have never had so much fun while learning educational information at the same time.  There are hands on exhibits, which the kids loved as well as an extensive trail system.  So many opportunities to commune with nature, such as encounters with reptiles, birds-of-prey, bobcats and more.

The staff are hands on, entertaining, patient and very knowledgeable, which made our visit one we will not forget. They want visitors to leave with a great appreciation of our environment, animals, eco-system and so much more.”

Definition of Biophilia: A hypothetical human tendency to interact or be closely associated with other forms of life in nature. (from bio-meaning "life" and philia-meaning "friendly feeling toward")

The center serves our local schools during the school year and is open to the public on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. during the months of June and July. Entrance fees are $8/adult and $5/children ages 3-12. For more information, visit  eowilsoncenter.org/
