St. Patrick’s Day Festivities in Destin, Florida

While cities such as Savannah, GA and Boston, MA are recognized for their grand St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, Destin, Florida has its own traditions that celebrate the luck of the Irish. Here’s a round-up of some of our favorite St. Patrick’s Day events planned for March 17, 2018: 

St. Patrick’s Day at The Hub 30A in Seagrove Beach 

Want to enjoy St. Patrick’s Day and March Madness, too? Look no further than The Hub 30A. March 17 from noon to 9:30 p.m., The Hub 30A will be a happening place with food, live music by The Dozens and March Madness basketball on the 25-foot Jumbotron screen. Visit www.hub30a.com 

11th Annual 30A St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival 

This parade began 11 years ago with a few golf carts and walkers and has become an anticipated annual tradition that’s grown into a fun coastal parade and celebration of all things Irish.   It’s the 11th Annual 30A St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival will begin at 2 p.m. on Scenic Highway 30A west of Grayton Beach in Blue Mountain Beach. The line up of fun, festival floats will parade by Newman-Dailey properties including Sanctuary at Redfish and San Remo before reaching Hwy 393 and turning right at Shunk Gulley and ending for an Irish Festival at Arnett’s Gulfside Farm and Stables with the band the O’Mericans and The Drake School of Irish Dance beginning at 3 p.m. Afternoon schedule is as follows:   

2 p.m. - Parade
3 p.m - Color Guard and opening ceremonies + National Anthem by REDD 
3:30 p.m. -  Drake School Irish Dance
4:15 p.m. - O’Mericans Celtic Band  
4:45 p.m. – Bests! Best Dressed Pet, Best Redhead (Girl), Best Pirate (Boys)  
5 p.m. - O’Mericans Celtic Band 
5:30 p.m. - Best in Parade Award + Irish Land Plot Drawing

Festivities also will include face-painting, inflatable slides, kid’s activities and plenty of food and green beer. Arnett’s Gulfside Trail Rides is at 613 South County Hwy. 393 in Santa Rosa Beach. Visit www.30Aparade.com 

Sandestin St. Patty’s Day Delight 

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the whole family 6-9 p.m. at the Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin in Miramar Beach. Enjoy live jazz and blues music by The Blenders at the Events Plaza beginning at 6 p.m. followed by Irish dancing performed by The Drake School of Irish Dance at 7 p.m. Entertainment continues 8-9 p.m. 

Destin St. Patrick’s Day Fun 

Irish Grogg March at HarborWalk Village is ready to party it up for St. Patrick’s Day, March 17 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. A $10 donation to a local charity will get you a passport to do the lucky grogg march through the bars and restaurants of the HarborWalk Village.  

McGuire’s St. Patrick’s Day Extravaganza includes feasting on St. Patrick’s Day traditional Irish fare and entertainment by JJ Smith, Brooks Hubbert, I’magene, Grape Drink and DJ Zoran from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.  

Fort Walton Beach Leprechaun Run

Lucky Leprechaun 5K/10K Run/Walk kicks off at 8 a.m. in downtown Fort Walton Beach. This is the 6th Annual Lucky Leprechaun run sponsored by the Northwest Florida Track Club and Run With It, and proceeds from the race go to Ronald McDonald House in Pensacola and toward a rubber track for Fort Walton Beach High School. There will also be a Lil’ Leprechaun 1-mile run for kids at 9 a.m. And a post-race party at KC’s Sandbar.
