Seaside Celebrations

February brings a full month of fantastic beachside festivals. Today we're featuring the upcoming events in Seaside, FL, just east of Destin along Scenic Highway 30A.

The festivities kick off on Saturday, Feb. 9, with the Seaside Community Yard Sale, located near many of our South Walton and Destin vacation rentals. If you haven't experienced the joy of this event, you're missing out. Tables filled with hidden treasures, including art, jewelry, furniture and more fill the Seaside Amphitheater as attendees scour the vendor's wares to find that one-of-a-kind item at a great price. Those who love fashion, won't want to the Déjà Vu table, which carries young contemporary styles in tops, skirts and dresses. At the sale, women can find those high-end styles for between $5 and $30, which makes their corner very popular.

On Sunday, Feb. 10, Seaside holds its family-friendly Mardi Gras celebration. The festivities begin at noon with kids' activities, including balloon sculpting, arts and crafts and face painting from noon until 2 p.m. led by Abrakadoodle Art Education and Parties. At 2 p.m., the walking parade begins and at the end of the parade, there will be live music straight out of New Orleans by Sunpie Barnes and the Louisiana Sunspots beginning at 3 p.m. at the Seaside Amphitheater. All activities are free and open to the public.
