Florida’s Emerald Coast Ranked Among 10 Best in the US

Every year, Lonely Planet's experts scour the United States to bring us the “must see” places for that year. From sweeping mountain ranges, tropical coastlines, desert landscapes and dazzling cities, there are a whole host of underrated or off-the-radar spots. We were thrilled to learn that Florida's Emerald Coast, which includes the beaches of South Walton and Destin, Florida, is among the "Best in the U.S.", and listed as a top 10 destination you need to see in 2017.

For those who are familiar with our soft white sand beaches and warm welcoming hospitality, this news may come as no surprise, but for those who are not familiar with our sugary sandy shores, delicious restaurants, charming coastal communities, outdoor activities and watersports, and thriving arts scene, here's what the editors of Lonely Planet had to say:

"Florida’s Emerald Coast - Formerly dubbed the ‘Redneck Riviera’, this 100-mile stretch of sugar-fine sand and beachfront towns on Florida’s once-forgotten northern Gulf coast has gone fancy. Even celebs such as Sandra Bullock and Tony Romo frequent the shorelines now referred to as the Emerald Coast, and the rich and famous are hoping nobody else gets wind of their affordable but increasingly classy slice of oceanfront Old South. But in recent years investors have sniffed out the salty Shangri La and its delicious oysters; new condos and hotels, including the area’s first five-star property, Henderson Beach Resort, are shooting up along the coast, and the town of Seaside – or ‘Seahaven’, as seen in The Truman Show– is an eco-friendly, 80-acre dream now studied in architecture schools."

For those considering a trip for Florida's Emerald Coast this year, we invite you to explore Newman-Dailey's premier selection of vacation rental homes, cottages, condos and villas. The best part is that many of our properties are nestled admist oak trees, buffered by lakes, overlook the Gulf and tucked away in the pines so our guests have a cozy place to relax while all the amentities, including shopping, dining and activities, are nearby. View our Emerald Coast vacation rentals online or call one of our friendly vacation specialists at 1-800-225-7652 to help narrow your search.

See you @ the beach!
