Happy New Year! We’re excited to welcome 2020! As we kick off the year, our coastal community will be celebrating health/wellness, live music and productions of all kinds. Here's a round up of some of the most popular January events in South Walton and Destin, Florida.

January 11: Beach & Brew on 30A to Host Healthy-Living January Event to Benefit Food For Thought 11:00 a.m - 1:00 p.m

South Walton’s newest taproom, Beach & Brew on 30A, will host its third community event titled “Sip, Stretch & Savor” on Saturday, January 11, 2020 featuring a Cour Yoga class and brunch by Raw & Juicy. 

 To kick off the new year, Beach & Brew is bringing together local community partners for a healthy, rejuvenating morning event. Beginning at 11 a.m., join Courtney Connell, owner of Cour Yoga, for a relaxing one-hour and 15-minute yoga session followed by a complimentary beverage of choice from Beach & Brew along with an acai bowl brunch courtesy of Raw & Juicy. Jan. 11: Eunoia One Day Women’s Retreat: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Jan. 16: Emerald Coast Theatre Company- Winston Chirchill: Through the Storm 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Emerald Coast Theatre Company Presents: Bruce Collier will perform his acclaimed one-man show “Winston Churchill: Through the Storm.”  Travel back to July of 1945 after Nazi Germany has surrendered and Adolf Hitler is dead. British Prime Minister Winston Churchill is representing the United Kingdom at a summit conference in Potsdam, Germany and is relaxing after hosting a banquet for President Harry Truman of the United States and General Secretary Josef Stalin of the Soviet Union

Jan. 17-20: 30A Songwriters Festival

The perfect mix of cool beach weather and red-hot music is what you will find during the 30A Songwriters Festival. More than 175 artists perform in this truly collaborative event, allowing some of the craft's most talented songwriters to offer an in-depth look into the creative process. Artists will perform in intimate venues and large amphitheaters throughout the 16 beach neighborhoods of South Walton. January 23 – 25: EMERALD COAST THEATRE- “Buyer & Cellar”

ECTC’s professional main stage productions includes Buyer & Cellar, a one-man comedy by Jonathan Tolins about the price of fame, the oddest of all odd jobs and winner of the 2014–2015 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Solo Show. Jonathan Tolins has concocted an irresistible one-man play from the most peculiar of fictitious premises—an underemployed Los Angeles actor goes to work in Barbra Streisand’s Malibu, California basement. It’s a fantasy so delightful you wish it were true. For ages 13 and older. 560 Grand Boulevard in Grand Boulevard at Sandestin, located in Miramar Beach, Florida.

January 24: Mattie Kelly Arts Center- Wild World of Animals, 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM CST

Direct from Jack Hanna’s Adventures, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Kelly and Ryan, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Good Morning America and Rachel Ray, Wild World of Animals is an entertaining and educational show in an intimate setting, presenting animals born in captivity displaying natural behaviors, facilitated by an extremely knowledgeable moderator and guide. Tickets are $20 Adults and $10 Youth.

January 25: Gulfarium Kids FREE Weekend 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
