Newman-Dailey Raises $40,000 and Donates More Than 1,100 Food Items to Harvest House of Destin

Newman-Dailey Resort Properties continues its commitment to the Destin community by raising $40,000 and collecting 1,141 food items for Harvest House of Destin, helping local families access critical resources during the holiday season.

For the fourth consecutive year, Newman-Dailey Resort Properties has partnered with Harvest House of Destin to support individuals and families facing food insecurity throughout the Destin area. Through its annual summer fundraising campaign, Team Newman-Dailey successfully raised $40,000 in monetary donations and collected 1,141 food items, along with hundreds of essential toiletry products for community members in need.

The annual initiative is designed to provide support ahead of the holiday season, when many local families experience increased financial challenges and the demand for food assistance rises across Northwest Florida.

Supporting Destin Families When They Need It Most

As one of the longest-operating property management and real estate companies in Destin, Newman-Dailey has made community service a cornerstone of its culture. The company's annual fundraising effort brings together employees, homeowners, vendors, clients, friends, and family members to support causes that directly benefit the local community.

"There are many hard-working fishing families that struggle during the slower tourism months as well as families who are hit with unexpected circumstances and need help," said Jeanne Dailey, Founder and CEO of Newman-Dailey Resort Properties.

"We are proud to partner with the Harvest House for the fourth year in a row and make a much-needed impact on the families they serve. They are one of the longest operating food pantries in our area and have been around almost as long as I've lived here. I am humbled by the outpouring of support and am proud to champion such a worthy cause."

Harvest House of Destin: A Lifeline for the Community

Founded in 1987 by Jerry and Claire Ogle, Harvest House of Destin began with a simple mission: provide food to hungry families, particularly those in the local fishing community facing hardship during the winter months.

Today, Harvest House remains dedicated to serving the working poor, senior citizens, and families experiencing unexpected life challenges. Rising grocery costs and lower-than-usual donation levels have increased the organization's need for community support. This year, the pantry reportedly had only a fraction of its typical food donations and has been purchasing food monthly to maintain adequate inventory for residents who depend on its services.

Team Newman-Dailey Collects Food, Toiletries and Essential Supplies

Employees from every division of Newman-Dailey, including Vacation Rentals, Property Management, Real Estate Sales, Association Management, and Long-Term Rentals, participated in the fundraising drive.

The donation included:

  • 1,141 food items
  • Canned goods
  • Pancake mix and syrup
  • Peanut butter and jelly
  • Family-friendly snacks

Recognizing an increased need for personal care products, the team expanded its collection efforts to include hygiene and dental supplies. Donations included:

  • 100 toothbrush and toothpaste packs
  • 200 mini toothpaste tubes
  • 50 full-size toothpaste tubes
  • 51 bottles of shampoo

These items help fill critical gaps for families who may be struggling to afford everyday necessities.

$40,000 Donation Helps Meet Growing Demand

In addition to the food and personal care donations, Newman-Dailey presented Harvest House Executive Director Lori Joyner with a check for $40,000. The contribution exceeded the organization's 2024 donation total and adds to an impressive record of giving.

Over the past four years, Team Newman-Dailey has raised a cumulative $161,927 for Harvest House, demonstrating an ongoing commitment to supporting local families and strengthening the Destin community.

"We're so grateful for Newman-Dailey's support in helping us meet the growing needs of our community," said Joyner.

"Newman-Dailey was a great support when we moved into our new location, and our new food pantry is five times larger than the previous one, allowing us to maintain a well-stocked inventory to better serve the community. This incredible donation of cash and items provides critical assistance for our organization to be able to serve Destin families through the holidays."

A Tradition of Giving Back

According to Newman-Dailey Fundraising Captain Lisa Morgan, the annual campaign continues to inspire employees and supporters alike.

"We always question how much we can raise, and we know any amount is better than nothing," Morgan said. "We're proud to be able to fill in where the Harvest House has the greatest need. This year, we focused on specific food items and added toiletries, which was a big need. As usual, our competitive spirit and love of helping people shined through and it is so rewarding to know we're helping hard-working families in our community."

The fundraiser exemplifies how local businesses can make a meaningful difference through community involvement, charitable giving, and volunteerism.
