Mother Nature Kisses the Emerald Coast

With Debby dancing off shore, it reminds us of the respect we have for Mother Nature. Standing on the beach in Destin and feeling Debby's wind gusts and watching the surf is humbling and fascinating experience. While the water is closed for swimming, many of our guests have set up lawn chairs on the beach to relax and watch the show.

For those looking to go explore, here's some fun, educational  indoor activities:

Emerald Coast Science Center stimulates the imagination with exhibits such as a reflecting Castle of Mirrors, "adult-sized" bubble makers, a literally hair-raising Vandergraph generator, an electrifying Illuma Storm and more. 139 Brooks St (850) 664-1261 http://www.ecscience.org

Destin History & Fishing Museum, Inc.
replicates the feeling of swimming in the Gulf of Mexico with award winning examples of fish caught in Destin displayed on a 100 feet of wall space depicting the Gulf floor. 108 Stahlman Avenue (850) 837-6611 http://www.destinhistoryandfishingmuseum.org

Indian Temple Mound
is onthe National Register of Historic Places, and is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Florida. The rare findings of pottery, tools and weapons are a few of the ancient artifacts on display. 139 Miracle Strip Parkway Southeast Fort Walton Beach, FL 32548 (850) 833-9595 http://www.northwest-florida-travel.com/indian-temple-mound.html
