Monitoring Tropical Storm Nate

While it is beautiful in Destin today, we are currently monitoring Tropical Storm Nate. Current models from the National Weather Service show the storm reaching the Gulf Coast on Sunday, Oct. 8. The cone of uncertainty currently shows the storm’s path as making landfall between Louisiana and Mississippi on Sunday. This is a fast moving storm, which will be inland on Monday, and Destin will be back to sunny skies by Tuesday.

We do not anticipate this storm will impact guests arriving on Saturday. **Will the bridges be closed?**
If it is deemed necessary to close any Okaloosa and Walton County bridges that information will immediately be posted to the Walton County Emergency Management Facebook page. Area bridges are closed when sustained winds reach 45 mph.
